A Touch of Frost ~ Part 3

I've spoken about this challenge two other times when talking about stained glass.  As it stands the snowflakes are as yet unfinished and I don't foresee them being done in time for today...Rather I am focusing on this thread and wire wrapped pendant instead.

Peruvian string art is something I have long loved and admired but didn't take the time to learn until later (mostly because I didn't know what it was called).  After I learned about the basic technique and realized I had everything I needed to get started I knew I would start carrying it in my store sooner or later...
For months though I did nothing with it.  I tested it once to make a larger pendant and wrapped it with yarn.  While it worked to a point it was a trial first run that wasn't stellar, so later with the help of my son I tore the project to pieces.

When I entered The Cosmic Web's challenge for January called, "A Touch of Frost" I immediately thought glass snowflake.  But as I sat working the image of a delicately glistening pendant with some opalescent thread I had came to mind.  I thought to adorn with the icy-colored moonstones and string it around this lovely royal blue wire I'd just gotten for my dream catchers.  I knew it was finally time for some serious thread art.

I finished the frame and coil and did much arguing with the wrapping and stringing until I finally finished the basic thread pendant with the beads.  But as I sat looking at it I knew it needed something more.  The image of floating snowflakes came to mind, of their delicate swirling around as they fell from the sky and I had it - swirled wire work.  So there you have it, a delicately beautiful pendant that glitters and sparkles like snowflakes under a microscope.
