This one right here incites giggles every time I see it and is something my friend Star and I have had giggle fests over with ridiculous captions of course.
So the real schtick isn't that I hate numbers. They're often handy and quite nice (eg money coming in, days off, more of something else you want). But my visceral dislike of numbers stems around my great difficulty with math. Math and I are bitter enemies and for whatever reason my brain does not like to hold onto information of a mathematical nature.
But when you run a business, math is necessary. It comes at you in the form of statistics and other data, money coming in and out, and much to my chagrin even in the design of your work. Talk about a low blow!
In fact math of all kinds pops up in my creative work constantly. From simple math like counting which allows me to price, keep my place, size things to the more complicated metrics that allow me to know where to spend my time, to determining what has and hasn't been working and where I need to decrease or up my workload.
Another thing is that in my healing work I LOVE numerology! Which of course is based on numbers. So perhaps I need to stop looking at numbers as if they were my nemesis? Sounds like my goal for the remainder of the year.
In the comments below chime in! What's your relationship with numbers and math? Why? If you have a negative relationship with numbers how might you improve it! (I love new ideas and it can help others too!)
