WUW?: Giving Thanks

Preparing for the first Thanksgiving with my "new" family I caught the baking bug and created a deluge of sweets (as you can see above!)

Excitedly I even posted on Instagram which resulted in not all of the desserts fitting!

Astrologically this week we're in between major happenings, but as you know tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. so it'll be fooding and family time around the states. Then follows the dreaded & celebrated Black Friday & Cyber Monday, with Small Business Saturday hanging out in between. In other news I haven't been working on much lately, much to my chagrin. Moving, new baby, and just lots of changing and shifting has had me swamped and super duper tired! But I did get a change to get something on my loom I've been meaning to...

As I mentioned earlier I baking up a storm today. Impromptu plans with sweetie's family were finally finalized and I opted to do my specialty - desserts. My absolute favorite go-to cold weather treat is my special cheesecake with a twist mom imparted to me, but I've also added Pumpkin Cookies, Peanut Butter Fudge, Raspberry Breakfast Cake, along with another holiday go to of Candied Yams.

This year is going to be my first with sweetie's family so I'm hoping for good times (holidays weren't a nice time in my family growing up!) So this year on the top of my gratitude list = a caring other, new & loving family, new traditions learned, old traditions remembered, & being able to share my favorite foods with new people!
