You only lose what you cling to. ~ Buddha
I am loathe to change, to let go of things. I get cozy, they get familiar, and the ripping away of these comforts can feel all too traumatizing. And yet...there is the space their absence creates. A peaceful moment, a pause, a slowing down. It takes some work to get used to a slower pace, but it is an excellent addition amongst all the subtraction. If you find yourself frantic or overwhelmed, consider what you can release, even if only for right now!
Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world. ~ Harriet Tubman
Following my dreams and creative ramblings can make for an interesting and hectic adventure. Sometimes long and sometimes short...but as my t-shirt says "never a dull moment". At times the challenge seems frustrating, but nothing good comes without work (in my estimation anyway.) The pain & struggle, blood, sweat, & tears give character and meaning to the work that without it would be lost.
Your writing voice is the deepest possible reflection of who you are. The job of your voice is not to seduce or flatter or make well-shaped sentences. In your voice, your readers should be able to hear the contents of your mind, your heart, your soul. ~ Meg Rosoff
Iâm participating in a Blog Link-up with Kris (With a K), from www.withakwriting.com, because she wants to hear about the role writing plays in our businesses.
She is giving a Writing Workshop for entrepreneurs and bloggers, starting May 25th, and she wants to give away a scholarship to one of the lovely bloggers who participate in this link up. You can participate and get a chance to win too.
Just copy and paste this bolded text into the introduction of your blog post answering the question, âHow has writing been beneficial to your business, and what do you want to Craft with your Voice next?â
Finally, go back to Krisâs blog on or after May 12th to add your link to the link-up party there, and you could win a scholarship to her new course: Craft Your Voice. Sheâll be drawing a name on the 18th of May for a COMPLETE scholarship to the 6 week writing course, so you can write and link-up your post any time before then.
Style is a reflection of your attitude and your personality. ~ Shawn Ashmore
Often reflection can lead you in many places. While some are helpful, others are less so. It's always important to use your reflection as a tool rather than a permanent state of mind you never use. One has to do as much as think to move forward!
I'll be honest, I secretly like to put "like a boss" on the end of random sentences as it delights me to end. (Like a Viking is another choice one.)
But today's meanderings were inspired by another boss lady I know, Ms. Marie Forleo.
Simply a beautiful treasure, perfect for my wall!
